default Learning As I Grow

This is what I have learned so far:

Succulents need:

Like a Star @ heaven Cactus soil or there are recipes to make your own, it has to be well draining so there is no standing water. Succulents and cactus have short roots so they don't need a deep pot.

Like a Star @ heaven The best pot is one that drains. I bought a plastic plant dish and put my own holes in it with a screw driver that I heated the end of it on the stove burner.

Like a Star @ heaven When you transplant a succulent or cactus don't water it until a day or two later to give the roots time to adjust.

Like a Star @ heaven Test the soil by sticking your finger in it to see how dry it is before watering.  In the winter they will go dormant and so they hardly need any water until you see new leaves in the spring then you can water as normal

Like a Star @ heaven You can grow seeds indoors in February, see my post on my seed planting.

Will be adding more as I go.
